I’m finally past the halfway point in my quest for 1000 followers. At the end of day 5, I was being followed by 518 twitter users! That’s 518 more than I had 5 days ago and an average of 103/day – right on target.

Today I followed the same formula I had been adhering to for the past 2 or 3 days. I added about 50 users from Buzzom and then I looked in twello for some twitterers in some more specific industries.

Finally, I decided that since I have over 500 followers, I need to start analyzing my effectiveness at growing my account. I checked out my stats in 2 online programs: twitter.grader.com and twittercounter.com.

Both of these programs analyze several different aspects of my twitter account and it’s useful to check out both. While these programs may not tell me a whole heck of a lot today, I will return in a couple days to see if I can move up in the ranks. Specifically I would like to see my 94/100 score

improve in twitter.grader and I would like to crack the 3,000 barrier in my twittercounter rank (currently 3,639). 1 other thing that I thought was cool was the button page on twittercounter. It gives you code that you can embed into your website which creates a button letting people know how many followers you have. The button comes in a basic style or a cute little bird which I pasted below.
